Vlc media player dvd audio no video2/20/2024 I have DVDDecrypter set to break up the files into individual vob files. Then I record the show on DVD+RW DVD's then use DVDDecrypter to rip the video to my hard drive and play it using vlc. * As you will recall, my process is to record shows from the tv and use the magnavox's primitive editing facilities to remove the commercials. * Unedited videos never have this problem. ![]() * I've been able to re-produce the problem accidentally in videos with a duration of 25 mins up to 2 hrs 48 mins. Since we couldn't get the logging issue resolved, here are some final observations on this issue. I'm running Windows XP SP3 with all the latest updates.ĭoes anyone know what I can do to fix this? I am a programmer by trade and would be happy to review logs or whatever if that will help. It also happened on my previous version of vlc, but since I have cleared my cache, deleted previous settings, etc, before installing the latest/greatest version of vlc, I don't remember what version it was. The problem happens no matter what quality level I use to record the original video.Ĭurrent version of vlc software is 2.0.2 Twoflower That is, vlc works fine if the video is less than 2 hrs long, but if the video is more than 2 hrs long, the audio will stop half way through while the video plays along to completion whenever using vlc. I can also repeat the vlc behavior if I rip the movie to my external hard drive from the dvd. ![]() The DVD's audio plays fine all the way through when using a DVR hooked up to the TV. I know the audio in the 2nd half of the video is good because I can play the video from an external DVD drive on my laptop using another software video player and the audio plays fine all the way through the video. ![]() But the video is more than 2 hrs long, then using vlc, the audio stops exactly half way through the movie and never plays again although the video plays just fine. Vlc works fine if the video is less than a couple of hours long. Then I view them on my laptop by playing the video directly from the DVD using vlc. I record TV shows and movies to my magnavox 515H DVR and then directly dub them on the magnavox at high speed to a single-sided +RW DVD.
